This staggering statistic inspired the creation of Know Me First. Rather than instruct or judge those parents who are faced with the decision of abortion, we prefer to inform and educate our world about the implicit value, joy and beauty of babies, children, teenagers, and adults with Down syndrome. The story is familiar - positive prenatal test results indicating a higher risk for Down syndrome. This news can be overwhelming, and often triggers...sadness, anger, confusion, worry, and an overall uncertainty for what the future holds.

Should you ‘'keep’' the baby? Too often parents are encouraged to abort by their medical provider, but we want to support parents to embrace the life of their baby, who happens to have Down syndrome.

We understand that you are scared. It is very overwhelming and daunting - we've been there. But if you don’t take the time to learn why your baby is perfect exactly how he or she is, you may regret it for the rest of your life.
